Product Setup

Initial Set up - New Shop/New Solution

Option 1 - Import Existing Product File

It is an option to import an existing product file with Department and Sub-department information if you are upgrading to one of the JustScan Solutions. You must ensure that you can get access to the file in a pre specified format and that you are happy with the accuracy of the data on the file.

Option 2 - Import Supplier Product Files

You can request product files in a pre specified format from your suppliers. It is best to request a file with only the products you have purchased and not the supplier’s full product file. After the products have been imported a simple process must be followed to allocate a Department and Sub-department. This facility is not available for all shop types. Option 3 - Import from Hand Held

Using 2 handhelds supplied by JustScan, you and your staff can scan one of each item in your shop, allocating Departments and Sub-departments as you go. On completion, the full file can be imported. This facility is not available for all shop types. For further information, please contact a member of the JustScan Team.


There is no additional cost for assistance or equipment provided by JustScan in the Product import process.


Fashion Systems

Fashion systems are a little more complex in some ways and simpler in other ways. ModaPos makes use of our cutting edge fashion matrix. Take for example a style of jeans you receive in with 10 variations of size and 5 variations of colour. Once the product is set up, the user fills in a spreadsheet like form to input the different colours and sizes. A unique barcode will be created for each of these products so you can enquire on the availability of specifc syles, colours and sizes but also report on all the information.
